In the vibrant town of Kiserian, a young man named Ken Mwaura found his life's calling in the most unexpected of places—a popular restaurant named Olepolos. Raised by a father who balanced his roles as a military officer and a videographer, Ken had always been around cameras but never felt the pull. That changed one evening as he borrowed his cousin John's camera to capture a stunning sunset. In that moment, Ken felt an immediate connection to the art of photography.
For the next two weeks, he borrowed John's camera and roamed the town, capturing scenes that caught his eye. His newfound passion led him to participate in a national competition called "Picha Hamsini," aimed at celebrating 50 years of Kenya's independence through powerful images. To Ken's astonishment, his photo series won the competition, earning him recognition and a feature on CNN. One month later, he bought the camera from John, cementing his path in the world of media.
On May 11, 2016, Ken founded and registered his company, Motion Path Media Ltd, specializing in media production services. The company’s clientele ranges from corporate clients seeking professional video and photography services to events coverage, promotional media, social media content, and compelling documentaries. But naming the company was no small feat. Ken wanted a name that embodied his journey and aspirations.
Motion. To him, symbolized the essence of progress, a commitment to dynamic storytelling, and a relentless drive to innovate. Ken believes that in a world where change is the only constant, the company should embody this very principle, ensuring continuous movement and avoiding the perils of stagnation.
But just as a single word can hold immense power, he felt that another element was needed to truly capture the spirit of his journey. Path emerged as the perfect companion to Motion. It represented the journey the business was on - from humble beginnings to its aspiration of becoming one of the leading media production companies. The word Path, spoke to the company’s commitment to navigating the challenges and triumphs that lay ahead, and dedication to paving the way for current & future creators.
The final piece of the puzzle was Media, a term that clearly conveyed the company’s expertise and the industry they were passionate about. Thus, Motion Path Media Ltd was born - a name that encapsulated the company’s mission, vision, and the values.
